1.Turning Inserts
Shapes:
C: Rhombic 80° (most common)
D: Rhombic 55° (finishing)
V: Rhombic 35° (sharp, finishing)
W: Trigon 80° (strong cutting edge)
T: Triangle 60°
S: Square 90°
R: Round (strongest for heavy cuts)
Applications: Roughing, finishing, threading, grooving.
2.Milling Inserts
APKT / APMT / ADKT → Square/rectangular inserts for face and shoulder milling.
WNMG / SNMG / CNMG → Often adapted for milling as well as turning.
RDKW / RDKT / SEKT → Round or square inserts for face milling cutters.
Features: Positive/negative rake options, used in high-feed and standard milling cutters.
3.Grooving Inserts
MRMN / MGMN → For grooving and parting.
N-type inserts → Narrow-width inserts for precision grooving.
Applications: External/internal grooving, cut-off operations.
4.Threading Inserts
16ER / 16IR → External and internal threading.
Partial Profile vs Full Profile inserts for metric, UNC, UNF, or trapezoidal threads.
5.Drilling Inserts (U-Drill / Indexable Drill)
SPMG / SOMT / WCMT → Indexable inserts for U-drills.
Outer & Center Inserts → Different grades for stability and chip evacuation.
6.Special Inserts
PCD Inserts → For aluminum and non-ferrous metals.
CBN Inserts → For hardened steel and cast iron.
